The word devour comes from te the original Greek, KATAPINO, menaning to gulp down. It is also translated drown, swallow, and swallow up. It is not everyone whom Satan can gulp down. Those who obey the Word of God cannot be. The devil doesn't want simply to move a few chairs around at night to scare you or stick you with a little pin like a voodoo doll, he wants to steal your soul, kill you and then utterly destroy you. He wants to drag you down to hell for all eternity. You see, Satan has a very unique way of looking at humanity. You are 1 of 3 things to him and only 3 things:
1. a victim
2. a potential victim
3. a strong Christian who knows his/her position in Christ as to authority and power over him and all unclean spirits. This kind of Christian can make the devil turn and RUN AWAY. But only this kind! You better gear up pilgrim... this is war! How does Satan look at you??
I am always glad to encounter a Satan expert. I have never been able to get an answer about the motives of Satan. Why does he want to do these things you describe? What does he get out of it? What is his payoff?

Brother, if you spent 1/2 as much time learning God's Word and tending to your soul you would be much better served. Your fruit is obvious.

Satan once had everything. He was heaven's highest and most honored angel. When he rebelled he threw it all away and can never get it back. He seeks revenge against God but has no power over Him so he attacks that which God loves most- mankind.

Some goals of Satan and unclean spirits are:
1. cause you to sin which,
2. separates you from God . Note to the unsaved, nonbeliever: you are already separated from God.
3. destroy your faith, health, finances, and family
4. keep you from going forward in your walk with God, and
5. keep you from growing as a child of God
6. intimidate you
7. take over your free will and bend it toward continual evil
8. to make you yield to evil and be in total cooperation with it
9. to get you addicted to sin and the pleasures of the flesh
10. to totally possess you
11. to forfeit your: position in Christ, your sonship or daughtership and your salvation.
One of their long term goals is to so crush your hope that you stop fighting back against them altogether. They want to bring you to such a mental and emotional state that you are convinced that you will never overcome your sin or situation; that you will never, ever win on your own. If they accomplish this,
they are "in your head" and you WILL stop fighting back. They have you right where they want you and can then actually leave you alone and move on to another victim. You will continually fail in the future WITHOUT any further intervention from them! You have been programmed to fail and accepted it willingly in your mind and heart.
When your problems are demonic, evil will try to systematically take control of one area of your life first, and then another and another until you are
completely out of control and totally under their influence.
Some Christian's are very strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Just because evil can't get them to yield to temptation or sin doesn't
mean they are totally left alone by evil. They will use any means to keep them from witnessing and winning souls for Jesus Christ. They want to
keep you from witnessing and bringing other people to salvation. They can accomplish this by numerous means, some of which are:
1. cause you to backslide
2. cause you to lose interest
3. cause you to not to believe in the Gifts of the Spirit
4. cause you to stagnate in your walk
5. cause you to lose your boldness
6. cause you to lose your faith
7. cause you to lose your salvation
8. instill in you the fear of witnessing
The SPIRIT OF ANTI-CHRIST
"And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of anti-christ, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now is already in the world." 1 John 4:3 KJV

Some of the manifestations of the spirit of anti-christ are:
1. They are against Christ
2. They oppose Christ's doctrine, His diety, His humanity, and His victory. They substitute other methods of atoning for sin and for finding acceptance from God.
3. They try to bind people to the law which they have been set free from which is contray to scripture.
4. They attack individual personal testimonies as to what the blood of Jesus has done for them.
5. They oppose prophetical office by claiming authority and knowledge of scripture trying to add to, alter or take away from any prophecy or revelation from God.
6. They oppost the priestly office of Christ and saints.
7. They speak against the Gifts of the Spirit, often attributing them to Satan.
8. They suppress ministries.
9. They try to irrate, confuse, harass and otherwise disturb Christians, Christian meetings, communication and fellowship.
10. They vex righteous souls.
11. They persecute the saints of God.
12. They try to thwart God's plan.
13. They try to seduce men away from God and cause their faith to falter with their words.

"If anyone comes to you and does not bring (the doctrine of Jesus Christ) do not receive him, do not accept him, do not welcome him or admit him into your house or bid him Godspeed or give him any encouragement." 2 John 7:10

Mystic: Do you recognize any of these manifestations in your life?

Hmmm. Revenge . . . how human of him. Hardly seems prudent though. Revenge only seems to hurt the one seeking it . . . and Satan's supposed fate would certainly seem to corroborate that. I would think that heaven's former highest and most honored angel would be smart enough to know a losing proposition and repent. Throwing himself on God's mercy would seem a more prudent path . . . but then I am not a Satan expert.

“Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.â€

We as Christians do not need fancy buildings or monuments to gather, any place could do, we do not need Churches or the Vatican, what we need is Communication with each other, praise and worship with each other, what is important is fellowship as long as we have that the place we gather does not matter. Many feel listening to a sermon is congregating but if you leave with out Communicating with others you are locked up in a bubble, we must actually Communicate with each other and be supporting of others and open with each other only then will our fellowship bring forth ripe fruit.

Very good post. James says in his short epistle that if we resist the devil he has to flee from us. God does not give us a spirit of fear, but one of power and of love and of a sound mind.

The Master’s Napkin

John 20:7 - [The Apostles Peter and John have just raced to the tomb of Jesus to see the wild claim

by Mary, that someone has stolen the dead body of Jesus Christ. As they look inside the rock tomb they

see His empty burial clothes (called linen clothes). This is in V 6.

Verse 7: "And the NAPKIN, that was about His head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped

together in a place by itself."

John 20:7 is a Bible verse overlooked by todays Christian simply because we have limited

knowledge of Jewish traditions and customs of old. Check this out:

A "NAPKIN" held a special place of significance in ancient Jewish tradition. As seen in the verse above, a

burial napkin was placed on top or around the head of the deceased. A napkin, on the Master of a

household's dining table was also significant.

The rich and wealthy Jews of old Israel in Jesus' time often had servants. Unlike "slaves" of different

times and places, these household servants were often paid and always well treated. For the most part,

they were actually other Jews- friends, neighbors and acquaintances. They were more like family, really.

Nevertheless, the servants had their place, knew it, and kept it. Protocol and respect for their

employer and master demanded it. With a meal, a fine napkin was FOLDED NEATLY and was laid

beside the Lord of the house's plate before he dined.

Upon the occasion that the master's meal was interrupted for one reason or another, he would use

the napkin to tell his servants whether or not he was done eating. If business or other reasons would keep

him away for any great length of time, he would drop the napkin unkempt or haphazardly ON TOP of his

plate. This told this servants, in effect, "I'm done. I'm not coming back. Go ahead and take the plate of

food away." If, on the other hand, he folded (or WRAPPED) the napkin neatly and placed it SEPERATE

from his food, say, next to the plate, it meant, "I'm coming back to finish eating; don't take the plate away

just yet."

Any Jew in the household knew the meaning of the folded or unfolded napkin and many who had

nothing to do with servitude or masters knew this also. It was common knowledge in Jewish society

then.

Now let’s go back and revisit the verse I opened the post with. John 20:7 - [remember, Peter and

John are looking inside Jesus' tomb]

"And the napkin, that was about His head, NOT LYING WITH THE LINEN CLOTHES, (the burial clothes)

but WRAPPED together in A PLACE BY ITSELF (separate from the burial clothes). You will note it says

the napkin was NOT LYING WITH THE LINEN CLOTHES, BUT WAS WRAPPED TOGETHER IN

A PLACE BY ITSELF", in other words,

SEPERATE FROM THE LINEN CLOTHES.

This was an unmistakable sign left by the risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to the Jews-

"I'M COMING BACK!"

You can't stop a bird landing your head, but you can stop it building a nest.

For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Life is a war between the Spirit, and the flesh. But only those who are born of the Spirit are truly aware of it. The conflict isn't a matter of words on a piece of paper,or some vague concept to be grasped at outside of themselves. But is Living and dwelling within them, and is their everyday experience which they are by God made to walk through. The religious man rejoices in his virtue, and his own "wretched" self-righteousness. The spiritual man of the Spirit,is "a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief". The grief of all his sin the Spirit living within him is continuously driving to the cross of his Christ. Because it is his sin that his personal Saviour, Personally Bore.
Mat 3:14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
Mat 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
