I really would like to find material by a female evangelist who has a knack for connecting with modern women.
If she shows no interest in going directly to the source, why do you think a book telling her some author's beliefs about that source would be of interest to her? Has she asked for such a book or shown any interest in knowing more than what you have already told her? Personally, if a friend I know can't tell me in their own words about the things they believe, I certainly won't find a book by someone I don't know persuasive. If the friend tells me something that sparks my interest then I may ask them for their recommendations for further reading. But I would be put off by them giving me books to try to persuade me to believe what they do when I haven't indicated I would be open to that.

Now, if a friend had read a book that they found touched them personally, and wanted to share it with me because they want me to have a better understanding of the things that are important to them or, knowing me, thought I might find it interesting as well, then I'd be happy to read it and would appreciate their thoughtfulness and desire to connect on a deeper level.

We know for sure God is working in her when she starts asking questions.

Otherwise - be mindful that you can send the book - but she will be looking at you.

God bless your efforts.

maybe you can give her a gospel tract instead of a book, since it sounds like you are wanting her to just hear the salvation message? Although if she does have a particular issue in her life at this time like mourning someone's death or suffering through illness or whatever, there are Christian books out there (for ex, "When God Weeps" by female writer Joni Eareckson Tada), but to randomly give a book for no reason seems kind of weird. I definitely would want to avoid giving the impression of trying to "trick" someone into a relationship with Jesus, thus the suggestion of the direct approach with a simple tract. Personally, I would avoid Beth Moore (she's gone off into some unbiblical stuff lately) & apologetics books. As for Bibles as gifts, countless times years later people have come to me and said remember that Bible you gave me, well I put in the closet and just the other day .... Just something to think about.

Hovind is a "messenger" who deserves to be attacked. He also deserves to be sitting right where he is: behind bars.

There are many good, moral people writing books about God, Christ and Christianity. He's not one of them.
