I don't care if it is fringe - there are a lot of "fringe" Christians in America. I did not call it mainstream. You said I did, but I did not.

His statements might ring of senility, but, so far as we know, he hasn't been as fiscally irresponsible as his protégé Jim Baker was. At least if he is cooking the books, he hasn't been caught, yet.

I'm seriously hoping that is satire. It's dated June 17. I have to think that we'd have heard a major outcry about it by now if he did say it.

Pat has always been a little loo loo theologically, even by evangelical standards. But I honestly think the man's age is showing and his gears are starting to slip. He's gone from being occasionally "out there" to downright loony.

It doesn't matter whether or not Pat said the thing about spanking or not - he's still a lunatic.

I agree Heartsong. at this point PR is in the "so crazy and old I don't matter" category. He may have said it. He may not.

The point is what you saw. It was a curious mixture of sex and serious but misinformed doctrine.

Men who do this - or think it's OK need to be arrested.

Never heard him excuse cheating men. Is that only REPUBLICAN cheaters? Because he went crazy against President Clinton. And I don't think that was a national crisis - or any of Robertson's business.

I believe you though. Cheating men and women need to seel forgiveness from God. Not some sleazy televangelist.

For those who missed the link provided by an earlier poster, the information in the article was a false, it was a spoof.

Geez, what a sleazy thing for some rag to publish
Do you think God differentiates between "some rag" and those who spread the falsehood ?

Mark 10:19
" You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother.’ ”

Matthew 5:11
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute youand falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

Revelation 22:15
"Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood."
