It's inspiring to me to take communion on the first Sunday of October and know that millions of other Christians all around the world will be taking the cup and the bread on the same day [ within their time zone ] I know that these folks will not be thinking about war, hatred or how to one up their fellow humans.
It all got started by a Presbyterian minister in 1933 and while millions participate, millions more do not. Why so many abstain from being a part of this very simple but also very enriching experience i'll never know.

Abstention from communion has always been something I never understood among some Christians.

Communion is done every single day on the RCC.
