It was suggested some 25 years ago on the old PTL Club TV show that we should "run to the roar". This came to prominence when we were told that on the African plains a pride of lions would send an old, slow and toothless lion to circle around and get completely behind their prey, perhaps a herd of gazelle or antelope. The old lion would face the quarry and begin to roar loudly. Naturally the antelope would turn 180 degrees and run away from the roaring lion... right into the young strong lions waiting for them. Game over. This was mentioned so that if you ever found yourself in this percarious position you could outsmart the lions and run to the roar not away from it.
In light of 1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour;..." we don't have to be concerned which way to go; we don't even have to run away if we encounter the devil in our walk with God. Jesus has given us all power and authority over him! Stand tall and sure. Look a him straight in the eye and with confidence rebuke him and cast him away in the name of Jesus. Brothers and sisters, these are the last days. Evil is hunting you. Know your position in Christ. Be strong and courageous. Fear not.

Great application. I'm reminded too of 1 Corinthians 16:23 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Also, reminded of Jude.
