I am not concerned specifically about the book of life. God will handle that. I just need to relate to him through His Son and the Holy Spirit and be as obedient as I can.

Are you an Acts 2 Pentecostal? I mean by that, you are not a cessationist, are you? If you aren't a cessationist then you are on the right track to receive by the Holy Spirit that which relates to the Father in an intimate way.

I already have the Holy Spirit through faith in the gospel of Christ - therefore I am a child of God by faith, and therefore have the means to relate intimately with the Father. I don't consider myself as anything. Just following Christ the best I can.

A child you are__ no doubt, but a son requires teaching children can't handle otherwise Acts 2 would not have been necessary.

Agreed... at least as much as we are able to receive what is taught.

That was just my way of saying you haven't arrived and will have an unnecessary time of it unless you move in that direction. . .
