I have read some about the ecumenical movement, how is the gathered church of the Protestants, Catholics and the Orthodox supposed to be structured? By a pope ? And are they gonna use the Vatican as the main seat? Can you tell a bit about the ecumenical movement? It is still active, right? Thanks

It is a failure as they cannot agree on virtually anything and the largest group can't even use the word "God" as some do not believe in a God.
The best any ecumenical movement can accomplish is some respect for other perceptions of relationship with God and man. NO agreement on any unfied structure will ever come about.
I would guess that the ecumenical movement has as it's greatest hope is that all Christians can ultimately unite (in "one faith, one Lord, one baptism") so that they all "may be as one" as Jesus is supposed to have prayed. in practice, questions on what is exactly that faith is and what is necessary to believe and how the "visible" church of all believers on earth might/should be organized and (perhaps) lead is a stumbling block---the devil is indeed in the details, sad to say. in practice, this movement has at least allowed both individuals and groups of Christians to be aware of some of the basic similarities of belief and practice within the many other pieces of divided Christianity and if nothing else promote some mutual understanding and co-operation on practical works of charity and love among them and for all people who need help for mind and body. that said, it would not surprise me if both full unity of Christians AND the establishment of "the Kingdom of God' are ultimately not so much the result of our plans and works but of God's will and thus dependent on His time frame and not ours---which should not keep anyone of good will from praying for and working toward this goal in faith, hope, and love.

Reason: add more information.

What did you read? Are you talking about an event? What sources did you read?

This feiigned ignorance only casts doubt on your assertions about your status as a seminary-trained pastor. If you truly do not know what he is talking about your religious education has been very deficient.

Here is info for him I found.
He may not like the source but it will educate him about it.
