Um... okay. I was expecting denominations. I guess it's a misleading question. I should have posed "With which denomination are you affiliated or declare yourself a member? To which theological school of thought do you subscribe?"

Wrong. That is why the churches have corrupted Christ's Gospel and message of love. They retained the veil of ancient ignorance over reading the OT and misinterpreted the entire Spirit of Christ's mission on earth. It is a travesty beyond description. We are under a New Covenant and Miss Blue is correctly relying on what God has "written in our hearts"" and the guidance of the Comforter. Those who are relying on the words "written in ink" are following the letter and the letter killeth but the Spirit giveth life. We are NOT to override what is in our hearts using the "precepts and doctrines of men" derived from the words "written in ink." That just perpetuates the veil of ignorance Christ came to lift.

What type of Christian are you?

The type who is mindful of what true Christianity is all about...AGAPE LOVE!

Master, which is the great commandment in the law? (likened to a pair of pants - useless with only one leg, thus the saying, "gird up thy loins....") aisi

Jesus said unto them, "THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART...

This is the first and great commandment.
and the second is like unto it, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF."

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Matthew 22:36-40

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. Matthew 23:15

Oh my. Why don't you consider that the Spirit gives life to the written word. If you were born again you would know that because it speaks of the Living Word.

Well, for one thing because in the "written word" it says "the letter kills but the spirit gives life."

I believe that when one repents toward Christ calling upon His name to be saved in their heart being regenerated, born-again by the Spirit of God they have passed from death unto life.

When one is Saved by Christ, they are a new creation as God is now working in the individual to conform them to the image of Christ. The new creation, while in conflict with the carnal fallen nature desires to live for and obey Jesus Christ. All those that persevere do so because they are preserved in Christ our great High Priest after the order of Melchizedek. The child of God may stumble in their walk, but Christ will bring them around to repentance bearing fruit in their lives. They overcome because of their Faith. The faith that God gave them as a gift.

Those that turn away from Jesus Christ, like Judas Iscariot, were never a Child of God. Jesus said He chose them all and one was a "devil". The mixed multitudes were brought out of Egypt, and many turned back and were destroyed. True believers may stumble in their walk but will not turn away from Jesus Christ. Only the blood of Christ saves the believer not their righteousness. God's works not theirs.

1 John 2:19
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

Hebrews 10:39
But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

I have so many times seen the written word in the bible used as a judge's hammer or as a weapon. Often it is taken out of context, or used to reinforce something someone wants to believe, but anyways used as a weapon and not something to bind people in love.

I will take Jesus's love over some person's judgements by words, any day.

The Spirit does . . . but it is not the one that is used by most Christians today. They do not use the "mind of Christ." They use the mind of Jehovah as described in the OT under a veil of ignorance by our superstitious ancestors. The Living Word of God IS Christ and He abides with us under the New Covenant as the Holy Spirit (Comforter) to guide us to what God has "written in our hearts" . . . so that no one need teach us. When we read the Bible we are to use the understanding of Christ . . . NOT our ignorant ancestors.

The churches have misinterpreted Christ's mission as appeasement of an angry, vengeful God who required blood sacrifice of the innocent to satisfy His Holiness or justice or whatever. That is absurd. Why would God need any such barbarity to forgive?? How can anyone love or respect such a savage God. Jesus revealed the TRUE NATURE of God as loving and He exemplified it by His life, teachings and death. He loved even His torturers and murderers because "they knew not what they did." Jesus died because of our ancestors' sin (savage barbarity). He endured their savagery on His body without smiting anyone. That was the lesson. God desires mercy in love . . . NOT sacrifice to appease.
