Right, He came to shift the focus from the law (all 512 of them) that had dominated their lives to the righteousness of God through His son. The Israelites had a hard time with this, yet they had a knowledge of the Mosaic covenant and the types and shadows helped them see Christ.
We don't have that today without looking deeper, but there's so many voices - so many beliefs that just confuse people. The just shall live by faith (!) but no one does anymore.
The beliefs and practices of Christians have shifted from the unconditional love and acceptance preached
by Christ to the hate and condemnation spewed forth by certain individuals or groups today.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 says:
Love is patient and kind.
Love is not jealous, boastful or proud.
Love does not demand its own way.
It is not irritable or rude, and keeps no records of wrongs.
Love does not rejoice about injustice, but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful.
It endures through every circumstance in life.
Amen! THAT is why the majority are apostate in these "latter days." What they believe and preach is the opposite of what Christ taught, preached and did . . . that is what makes it ANTI-Christ!

This is true little elmer, there is a shift from what we focus on, one keeps us in sin and death the other keeps us in life and peace. I personally believe the vast majority of christendom is lost in sin consciousness.

Do you find Jesus criticism of the Pharisees 'accepting". No, He did not appease them, and accept their behaviors and it is not a Christian duty to bend over and accept and condone everything.
Ironically you preach acceptance, but in reality only view you accept is your own, while spewing hate and condemnation toward certain individuals and groups who you do not accept.
Is that number large or few ?. If it is large, can you explain that in respect to your narrow gate beliefs, where you believe only a few are saved, and where does that leave the mormon church which is spreading like wildfire?.
I will not help you derail yet another thread. We have had lengthy conversations about the meaning of the narrow gate, so instead of derailing this thread, you're better off looking up what was already discussed regarding that topic.
Derailing a thread, have you checked out your own posts. This contradictory belief that of yours and many others that few are saved and at the same time christianity is spreading like wildfire, is part of the big picture of what happened to christianity, it is the reason l and multitudes like myself have come out of it.

What would you describe Jesus' attitude toward lawmongers? His acceptance was (and is) toward those who have no sense of self righteousness and depend on him wholly.

Yes, derailing, and no, there is no contradiction.
Is 1 out 10 few (just an example)? I'd say so, but at the same time, it equates to 700 000 000 people, and that's just those living today, not counting those who already lived and died. 1 out of 100 would still be 70 million. Few can add up to quite a few.

Ah, so there are exceptions in this "accept everything gospel"? Is this the only exception, or are there other things you will not accept?
Yes, derailing, and no, there is no contradiction.

1 in 10 is not spreading like wildfire, massive contradiction and massive exaggeration of spreading like wildfire. You are off topic most of the way through this thread, you haven't said a thing about what's happened to
christianity, just your usual disapproval of what is being said.
