Just hope our present day Crusades don't go on as long as these did but they might.

Ashamed of the Crusades? The Top 4 Myths… Busted (with Video and Infograph) | British Free Press

It's a shame history was distorted like this. Now the Muslims can say they are righteous in their hate of us, even Obama brings it up when it happened centuries ago.

Many people could try to rewrite history of the crusades , just like the arrogant people today which deny the Bible can call it a myth

the Crusades was a bloody and terrible period for ALL involved and in a "perfect world" should never have happened---sort of like every other war/rebellion/conquest since history began. that said, to somehow create a scenario that is exclusively about evil "Christians" attacking peace-loving Muslims for no good reason does not fit the facts.

ever since the death of the Prophet, "Arab" military forces had been seizing by force and in the name of Islam all sorts of territory much of it in nominally Christian hands for hundreds of years previously from Syria and Egypt to Spain. right, wrong, or indifferent the Crusades were officially about recovering some of that territory---specifically the Holy Land and Jerusalem because of their religious significance to Christians. Muslims also held the area as religiously significant, BOTH sides: Christian Crusaders and Muslim Jihadists were promised paradise if they died for the "true faith" or killed an "infidel".

that territorial, national, and individual greed and cruelty were wrapped up with the "pious" and "good" intentions of the Crusaders (and the other side as well of course) is a sad and tragic commentary on the evil, hypocrisy, and stupidity that can lurk within most everyone individually and collectively what ever their ethnic/religious/political persuasions or protestations.

may God have mercy on all them then and all of us now and lead us to peace, understanding, tolerance, and forgiveness.

This is hilarious! It could be a manual for propaganda and deception. If you want to make something totally evil look good then you find a collection of claims about it which are not 100% true and you call them myths and then set up a myth busting site like this.

What is not a myth:

The fourth crusade sacked the Christian city of Constantinople and played a crucial role in finally bringing down the Byzantine Empire an end to significant Christian power in the middle east.

Richard the Lion Heart slaughtered over 3000 prisoners captured in the sacking of Jerusalem. Why? Because he wasn't paid enough ransom on time.

The first crusade includes attacks on Jewish communities in Germany and a slaughter of its inhabitants.

The crusades are a testament how even a Christian ideology can be used to turn men women and children in to murdering monsters.
