let's try it like this:

1. Joseph wanted to put Mary away because he knew he got her pregnant before they were married and it would be a problem for him. This is why the Angel or the Lord told him not to worry and marry her anyway.

2. Mary knew there would be a problem as well which is why she said "I know not a Man" which in that context meant she was without a husband because her and Joseph were not married.

3. No where in the scriptures does the Angel of the Lord say Mary will be impregnated by the Holy Spirit. not one scripture. It says the Holy Spirit will overshadow her, that does not mean impregnate.

4. Nobody knew Mary was with child until after her and Joseph were married. Only her and Joseph knew this beforehand.

Scriptures are easy to understand when you're in the Spirit of Christ.

** Sidenote - IF Yeshua was born of a Spirit and not via normal sexual intercourse, then why would he have to die in the flesh? Why would he have to grow from a young boy to Man? And He could've kept the Romans from killing him by teleporting back to heaven since he was a spirit, right? wrong. Fact is...Jesus was ORDAINED by The Most High to do what he did, in flesh, from birth to death. in the normal fashion of life as we know it.

When you read "take unto Mary thy wife", it's in the context of "take her AS your wife".... because they were not married yet!...and then it says "for that which is conceived in her", which is telling you that the Angel of the Lord was telling Joseph in layman's terms: "Marry her because she is pregnant with your child and that child is going to be the Messiah"

See, if Joseph was not a part of this whole thing, there would be no need for the Angel to tell him anything. Because what good would it do for the Angel to say "Hey man, you should be the Stepdaddy"...LOL

You've been mislead in your Biblical studies. sorry.

*FYI - In Hebrew culture it was forbidden to have kids out of wedlock. so Joseph married her before the rest of the Israelites saw Mary's pregnant belly and put Joseph to death for that. Because if you get a female pregnant you must be married first. that was Hebrew culture and GOD's Law
Joseph was going to divorce Mary after she told him that she was pregnant because SOME OTHER MAN in his mind had to impregnate her.. because Joseph obviously didn't.

This was his understanding until the Angel told Joseph what happened.

When Mary was told by the angel that she would conceive and bear a child, she wondered how that was possible since she had not known a man (Luke 1:30-35). Mary acknowledged that she had never had sex.

What do you not understand about the fact that Matthew 1:20 says that an angel told Joseph to not be afraid to take Mary as his wife because the Child who had been conceived in her was of the Holy Spirit?

Joseph, who is called a righteous man (Matthew 1:19) knew that he had not gotten Mary pregnant, but thought that she had been involved in an unfaithful sexual relationship and intended to put her away quietly. That is why an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph and told him that the child who had been conceived in Mary was of the Holy Spirit?

Matthew 1:24-25 then states that Joseph took Mary for his wife but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to Jesus.
Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. 19] And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned to send her away secretly. 20] But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21] "She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."
Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and not by any man.

Would you believe your 15 year old daughter if she told you that?

After all, you would not know for 30 years or so if her child, assuming it was a son, was the reincarnation of Jesus or not, right?
