You can sing it, rap it, paint it, write it, dance it...
The method of delivery is personal.
it = the message you're trying to get across.
The message is what is important.
What is their message?
"Christian hip-hop" seems a bit broad of a category.
I have no idea what each performer in Christian hip-hip is promoting.
But, ironically the most conservative quiet-natured white preacher loves this - Paul Washer. strange but true.
he feels the hip hop christian musicians are getting the word of God out in their music and reaching a lot of people.
I think it depends what kind of hip hop it is. The 2nd one is similar more to secular hip hop except with another message. The 1st one is pure gospel music and there is nothing you can find wrong with it that contradicts what the bible says.
I have mixed feelings on it. There are some artists that I believe truly bring sound doctrine and a clear Biblical message in their music but then you have some that I believe has allowed the culture of hip hop to mix into their ministry. That's a dangerous line. I akin to the adaption of the black church. It's possible to bring something in so much that it becomes the thing you worship instead of worshiping God himself. Now you see a lot of artists that are more often making their music about themselves, doing things to advance themselves and not really sharing a gospel message in their music. I think you have, like with all genres, be selective to what you listen to and who you listen to.

I agree. Isn't there some song out there that says, "It's thegod in me" and the song seems to be about getting things for self. They sing that the reason why the person is so blessed is because they put God first , but the focus of the song is on self, and getting the material benefits .
I agree that the gospel can be communicated in various forms and the important thing is the right message. Hopefully the artists have the right motives just like any all Christian artists should have.

Hey, as long as it can help curb the violence in urban cesspools like Detroit and south side Chicago, I'm all for it.
