God's shed His blood so that man could attest to the ugliness of sin. We are all sinners and we need a Savior as we can't save ourselves. There is none righteous, not one.

actually scripture says Romans 5:9 is critical to proper understanding of Romans 5:10
9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!

10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
we are saved by his life because of he took on God's wrath towards us in exchange for his perfect sinless life which gives:
"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them." ~ Jesus

Wouldn't it be more important and useful to ask and meditate on what the purpose of his life was?

Did you know life is in the blood?. Did you also notice we were reconciled has a done and completed thing while we were enemies?. God did not nor ever did view us has his enemies, we did because we thought(thought wrongly) he was against us.... Sadly the wolves in sheep clothing ravaged the flock that God is against us.

No it wasn't, jimmie. His shed blood was because of our spiritually immature, ignorant, savage, barbaric, primitive ancestors absurd beliefs about the nature of God and His motives towards us. God NEVER ever wanted sacrifices from us. That was all our ignorant savage ancestors' beliefs because they were so spiritually immature. God even noted it in Genesis.
Genesis 8:17-21 (King James Version)

17Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.
18And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him:
19Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.
20And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

Noah had just saved every species from EXTINCTION and was told to let them multiply on the earth. So what does the moron DO???? He sacrifices one of each kind on an altar! God said it was because of his youth (spiritual immaturity) . . . He did NOT mean his chronological age.

His redemptive work on the cross is what saves us from the penalty of sin. The things he taught us are only important AFTER we have placed our faith in Him.

"Without faith it is impossible to please God". Heb. 11:6

It appears that the only thing which has changed from the ANIMAL SACRIFICES is the wrapping paper?
