Not defending it, but just so you know, the pledge of allegience originally did not have the words "under God" in it. Those words were'nt added until 1954.

Do you think though, that the intent was to be a "pledge purist" and harken back to the days of the original? Or do you think maybe there were other motives?
According to the story the words were omitted because of a mistake a teacher had made. The school was notified and the correction was made. Is there a problem with that? Really?
There would be a story if the school said, "We made a conscious decision to deliberately leave God out of the pledge. He will not be returning."
Maybe the generation of unblessed of God kids , see Jesus will not protect the Children who are not Baptized or dedicated in Christ as Jesus does not have authority to bless some children
