I don't think that the term Psychology was around in the first century. But I wonder if that is what religion was actually considered to be, in ancient times. When Paul talks about "Adam" and "Jesus Christ" they seem to be very symbolic things. Spiritual things.

We are all in Adam, and we will all be in Christ. The mystery revealed is that Christ is in us.

I don't think it was JUST psychology. But it was an acknowledgement of the way God works in people.

What do you think?

I think it's fun reading your threads because they so often mirror my own thoughts.

Pauls writings are more about LOGIC than any other label you want to attach. Why did God choose HIM to write 14 of the 27 books in the New Testament??

I guess you haven't noticed that the new testament is inside the Old Testament (concealed) and the Old testament is inside the New Testament (revealed!)

Everything in the Old Testament was a dress rehearsal for that which was to come in the New Testament via God's timing!

It IS an interesting question. The elements that you have brought up are more about the mysticism inherent in any religious perception, but it seems to me that Paul is much more about the rationale and the practical application of the principles of the Way of life Jesus taught. More of the structural and the nuts and bolts of working it out than the relationship from a more emotional or mystical view like that of John.
