It's sad ... but how in the world did Bigotry become "Christianity?"

Do people actually read ... let alone understand their bibles?
When Jesus said, "Let him without sin cast the first stone" and began writing the sins of those assembled in the sand... um... exactly what did that mean??

The Greeks had the bible for 300 to 400 years. What were the Greeks best known for? Mythology. That means the truth they taught is written ALLEGORICALLY. Jesus taught in parables and the Greeks taught with mythology ... meaning that the text is written on three levels of understanding. (If you don't go to school and learn how to understand literature... it's harder to understand allegory, symbol, and metaphor.)

Even the Apostle Paul clearly warned AGAINST reading the bible literally.
But instead, people are taught that you can actually rape an angel. HOW IN THE GREAT UNIVERSE CAN YOU RAPE AN ANGEL???? And ... on what day has anyone LITERALLY seen a woman turned into a pillar of salt???

The writers of the Constitution stated that there will be a separation of church and state for a reason.
Using Christianity to justify bigotry, fear, and "Divide and Conquer" is pure apostate.

I can see all this homophobia is being used to create as much chaos as the killing of young black and Native American men.
  1. Chaos is one of the three-headed snakes the kill transformation. (i.e. poverty, addiction, etc...)
  2. The middle head is the archetype of "The Devil" ... which leads to repression. Freud in the Victorian Age proved repression doesn't work.
  3. But the head on the right is Rigidity (Fundamentalism.)

As long as humans fear their own subconscious "Disavowed Shadow," we will continue to project it in the attempt to slay it in others instead of letting it teach us to evolve into powerful beings of change and growth.

It started centuries before Christianity. Men writing books to support their hateful views, and claiming it as the "official" word of God.

this is truer than true. It also supports the claim that men wrote books to support their loving ways as best they could. Then others came and used them for weapons.

conservation laws may not answers uber-things, but you tell me what else do we have and I'll listen.

Without addressing the rest of your post, Paul did not warn against reading the Bible literally. What is literal is to be understood literally. What is allegorical is to be understood allegorically, and symbolic language is to be understood as such while recognizing that it refers to something real.

How did Bigotry become "Christian?"

It's a matter of perception, so as a man thinks.

Thanks for the Marxism 101 critical theory. It was like a time machine back to my university days. It's amusing to look at the different approaches you Lefties take with every cultural venue you subvert. In South America, Jesus was the first communist. "He created Christianity to help overthrow the white capitalist hegemony" using liberation theology and enlightened Catholicism as the vehicle of revolution. In America, Jesus is a white man's invention used to control the minorities. blah, blah, blah. Every "victim group" has their own personal Jesus with conflicting narratives.

Precisely how bigotry became "Christian," thank you. "Victim group" in this case is the people who don't like something about their neighbor and think they should not have to extend equal treatement. They create their own "narrative" without respect to what is actually taught in the words of Jesus.

It is a matter of focusing on others' failings rather than our own. It makes some feel better about themselves somehow. Sad, very sad.

The bible also says that sex with another person of same sex is a sin. Christians cannot support or condone sin; plain and simple .Love the sinner but hate the sin.
