What do you think of the statement that this spiritual teacher just posted today:

"Spiritual healing doesn’t have a how-to manual; it is an activity of the mind and heart. It’s a slow and sometimes laborious process of admitting to ourselves where we have been wrong, atoning in our hearts for the ways in which we ourselves have betrayed love, and releasing other people from our silent demands that they be other than they are. That is the meaning of the Atonement: the correction of our own perceptions and the attainment of our resurrected state."
- Marianne Williamson.

Before becoming a Christian, I read her stuff and bits about the framework of her ideology “A Course in Miracles”. It is a New Age religion centered upon “self”. She references the Bible often and skews verses to support the philosophy.

This religion is scary and is a snare. I am forever grateful that someone told me the truth of Jesus of who He really is and led me to the Truth.

She also posted this today.

"God isn’t waiting for you to be perfect; He knows you in the place where you already are. He isn’t meeting you down the line somewhere; he meets you in any moment when you were willing to meet Him. He doesn’t judge you for being broken; the tenderness with which He repairs you is beyond what your mind can conceive."

Recognizing that our expectations and/or our need to control is in fact our "sin" is one of the major elements of atonement as individuals. I am not at all sure that "That is the meaning of the Atonement" applies here. That Jesus provided the Way for us to move forward with our own is a bit different, I think. The second quote is an outstanding description of "sanctification."

If you are interested in Christ, please steer clear of any theology from Marianne Wilson.
