Christianity began as a seed planted by Moses, Abraham, the OT prophets along with a cast of God
obedient followers and advanced to the Essences, apostles, Jesus Himself and again many believers
and a huge cast contributors to the NT. No religion of any kind has claim to Christianity ( the essential believing in the son of man and the word). If anything religion perverted the word, and has attempted to pose as christianity but is an imposter or pseudo faith ( naturally unintentionally ,but once you get men to think too much you manufacture doctrine which has embedded itself into dozens of faiths claiming to be christian......really? In fairness most so-called christian faiths do believe ,but it's the word they mess up.

Seems the Muslims,Hindus and others failed to get that memo?

The above named are all the usual suspects. All have all been named and claimed by various religions and sects to support their dogmatic beliefs.

The OT is a great historical reference written by MEN about MEN (as in MALE patriarchal society). Much of what is in the OT is common knowledge to many living in the region of Palestine / Canaan.

The OT is a product of history when Homer's ODYSSEY was being popularized and people in the Palestinian area wanted their own version of HEROICS and BRAVE DEEDS, so they wrote the OT based on their history.

I believe this:

1. If we haven't uncovered the origins of Christianity by now we never will. It will stay as big a mystery as who really killed JFK and Nicole Brown Simpson.

2. If God really wanted us to know Jesus was His divine son He would have left irrefutable evidence that could not have been challenged by even the most hardened skeptics for the next 10,000 years. But He didn't leave any such evidence. He left us marginal evidence of Jesus at best, no evidence of any worth at worst.

I will ponder the reasons why God chose to do this until the day I meet Him. Then I can ask Him simply, "Why, God?"

My point I really was trying to make is that Catholicism and its marginal informed flock are of the belief THEY are the one true apostolic faith the origins of christianity when THEY are the primary body that detoured from christianity greatly not totally and manufactured doctrine and although are believers THEY have created a hosts of replacement theologies and nonsense. As for Muslims and non christian faiths they are perceived as pagan not part of this conversation here.

But by listing the patriarchs of the MUSLIM, JEWISH and other religions they become part of the conversation by default.

As for being the one true apostolic faith the origins of christianity, doesn't ALL christian religions believe this? Hence why there has and always will be dissension among the congregations?

First century Christianity began as a seed planted by Moses, Abraham, the OT prophets along with a cast of God
obedient followers. Modern day Christianity's problem has been it doesnt set itself apart from the world like 1st century Christianity.

Christianity from the 3rd century formed by merging 1st century Christianity, which was more Judaism based, with alot of Pagan customs to make it easier for the pagans to join. Thats how you get much of the pagan origins of xmas, with Jesus name slapped on top of it now and alot of the pagan customs of Easter as well.

Modern day Christianity pretty much just goes with the flow and lets atheists punk them in regards to their beliefs and they just take it anyways and in the future will have Islam merge their beliefs into Christianity and they just go along with it.
