The point is that Christ showed the greatest love in dying for you.

The saying; "There is no greater love than to lay down your life for your friends" is not speaking of the physical life but spiritual life.

One's personal life, or that which pertains to oneself.

For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.

One cannot love God without keeping His word. Jesus kept God's word and said that to obey God and do as He commanded is loving Him. So in effect to keep His word is to do what Jesus was commanded because He sent His followers as He was sent.

So one cannot love God and neighbor without keeping God's word and continuing in the words of God as Jesus showed.

IE;

"The man who loves me keeps my word. The man who does not keep my word does not love me."

"The world must know that I love the Father and do as He commanded me."

"The Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to speak and since I know His commandment is eternal life what I say is spoken just as He instructed me."

"Abide in my love. You will abide in my love if you keep my commandments just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in His love."

Is loving God keeping His word and doing what Jesus was commanded to say?

Is loving people as the world thinks loving God and neighbor?

Do you only use scripture and Jesus word's that supports your view?

Blessed are the pure of heart they will see God.
Are you a religious Jew?

As a Jew, Our GOD saith: "OF THE TREES OF THE GARDEN THOU MAYST FREE............" What does it mean?

As Jew, GOD the Father said this when HIS son opened the eyes, and all the powerful heavenly being surrounded.

No, it actually means that two birds on Mars are worth one in the space ship.

The word "life" in your quote above is a mistranslation. The Greek word used was psuche (soul). If one loses their psuche soul (pleasures in this live) then they will get their soul (pleasures) in the coming kingdom. This is relating only to the Jews, not to those of the nations. "Life" in Greek is "Zoe."

Are we not to do the same for others?
