As the last two posters have said, it has now entered the realm of MYOB.

You really should have led with this information. It makes the scenario totally different. I thought it was ONLY a church friend.

Did you interact regularly at church??

In that case, then no don't ask. Certainly, don't bring up religion ever at work!

I think you should. Sometimes when people are having personal issues, or feel ignored by their church, they stop attending for a while.

If no one asks why, their suspicions are confirmed and they just don't come back.

Showing that you care, is a good thing!

Since you see this person every day not asking is stranger that asking.

You're another who throws the word "friend" around too casually.

You need to learn the difference between a coworker, an acquaintance, and what a friend is.

MYOB, this is a coworker who attends/attended the same church you did, nothing more.

I'm in the MYOB camp really, but if you feel this person may be having some "crisis of faith" that they might actually want help with, I think making a simple comment or even sending them a note is better than asking. But only if you're actually friends with them or bible-study partners or something like that at church.

I tend to think spiritual matters are personal. Don't bring it up.

You know the person is OK. Continue on your own spiritual path and don't worry about hers.
