This typical platitude is completely devoid of reason or logic (or perhaps just an ignorance of what is actually IN the book). There is so much savagery and barbarity in the book that any claim that it would fill your spirit with love and light is preposterous. There are things in the book that COULD do that but, in general, the picture of God in the OT (if BELIEVED) is far more likely to fill you with fear, loathing and contempt, than love.

How does one believe all the bible and still love a god of hate, bigotry and oppression?

Jesus defined spirit and truth as the word of God.

Jesus said; "The words I spoke to you are spirit and life."

Jesus said; (Father) "Consecrate them in truth.....Your word is truth."

If you believe the Bible to be literally true, I fail to understand how you could possibly love the evil deity portrayed therein?
