I've been researching deliverance ministry, and observed that on casting out demons some exorcists command them to go to 'the pit', though it appeared it might be against the demon's preference. This got me thinking all sorts of angles on the subject, where the primary goal was that the core person / human should not be afflicted anymore with soul destroying, flesh feeding demons, ...but, what about the plight of the demon and what really is God's stance on and relationship toward this part of His creation; literally, What would Jesus do?

The versus coming to mind are psalm 145:8&9 The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The Lord is good to all. He has compassion on all that He has made.

And just to add the follow on thought: Not being convinced that kingdom living realities chronologically align with premillenialist / futurist views; is the believer's authority over all works of the evil one, in Christ, related to the purging in the lake of fire / second death, that unbelievers have to go through? I.e. casting out demons obviously pi55es them off, but isn't that just how it is meant to be when they are feeling unrepentant....

The casting out demons hocus pocus would be funny if it wasn't practised on children and the vulnerable, when it is abusive and should be illegal!

Demons exist in the mind of those who lack control of their lives. Demons are no more than a bad idea that one continues to think about and the best way to "cleanse" the mind of these demons is simply to move on to better ideas and embrace the joy and love that can be found throughout life.

The way Holy Spirit has here brought understanding was to command to bind demons responsible , take their powers away , and caste them down in Jesus name , then loose the spiritual wickedness of the high places (fallen angel), take their powers away , caste then down in Jesus name ....., then bind up the powers of darkness, take their powers away , caste them down in Jesus name .........then Thank the Lord .................................................. Still there can be sometime a chain of demons which you may have to command all the demons thorough out the world to be bind up .......... Then the take the powers away and caste them down is that Jesus should have prayed and the demons still had power the escape into the pigs were He prayed from Mark 5......... I have heard some preacher condemn people for casting them down to the pit as it literally says caste out , but Holy Spirit brought here to caste them down .......... Then fallen angels need to be removed as they hold the curses and are the so called strong men , and the powers of darkness need to be removed as spirits have more power with these around ............God has No mercy for demons and the spirit of the world ......... See the authority of the believer is with the Temple of the Holy Spirit which comes with this protection as a gift of God , and Jesus does require that believers blind demons and spirits through this gift of Holy Spirit as part of Jesus redemption of sin , as Jesus cannot bind demons for us without the authority of the believers prayers

Now, the Spirit expressly says, that in later times - some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and [the] teachings of demons. Test the spirits to see whether - they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world! If you, resist the
slanderer (devil), he will flee from you.

True, it's about entities which may, or may not exist.

The cat is the familiar spirit that works with the witch. Mediums and stage hypnotists have them also.
