Everything we say and do as a representative of Jesus should be done and said in love bringing honor and glory to Jesus. We represent Him at all times where ever we go, what ever we say.
I believe that the spirit should guide us in all things, and that when we are given words to speak, we should use them.
Some are going about like wolves to trap the sheep, it is better that the wolf is run off than one sheep to be devoured.
To equate My lord as Santa Claus is not received lightly, and the poor misguided need to see the strength of conviction, in that they may one day fall on their knees in repentance.
Certain souls do not open their eyes through gentle persuasion, some must have a bolt of lightning wake them up.
It is better to be hated for righteousness, than pampered by deceit.

The truth is love.
Jesus said to the scribes and pharisees, you are a den of vipers. You devour widows houses, your father is the devil....
Call it as we see it, and then there will be true choices made. Not some touchy, feely....luke warm placidness that leads to nothingness.
This world is full of the knowledge of God, if some choose not to recognize it, and wish to tear down believers and mock their God with comparisons to fantasy, and the easter bunny, who will stand and rebuke them?

G3560 νουθετέω noutheteō noo-thet-eh'-o
From the same as G3559; to put in mind, that is, (by implication) to caution or reprove gently: - admonish, warn.

To reprove gently but earnestly.
To counsel (another) against something to be avoided; caution.
To remind of something forgotten or disregarded, as an obligation or a responsibility.
I prefer to think of Jesus weeping over the unbelief of Israel, or sitting with a big smile on his face as the little children crawl on his lap.
That's attractive.
Jesus is "attractive".

Jesus would, every single time....
godspeed,
freedom
Jesus would stand and rebuke them, because he could; he had the right to do so. The last I looked, believers don't qualify, in that particular arena. Does that mean that believers shouldn't be allowed to tell others what they believe, and why? Absolutely not! But, they don't have the right to be ugly about it, in the process, either. There is a difference in being firm in one's beliefs and convictions, and running non-believers through with that sword! If a believer doesn't understand that difference, then it might be best if nothing is said at at all. And, Jesus didn't get ugly with non-believers, but he did take issue with the "religious" folk. Odd, isn't it?

I agree that with unbelievers that are truly desiring to know what Belief is about should be shown the patience and consideration that you are speaking of.
I draw the line at a staunch unbeliever, which has investigated and turned from God then compares God to the tooth fairy or Santa Claus.
I was not addressing some poor soul that was seeking to know. But a individual that has made up his mind and wishes to mock My Father.
Jesus called the Phillistines dogs.
godspeed,
freedom
