Finally an idea we can agree upon. I do believe there is a divine spark in everyone--hence the seeking. Incidentally, so does Muslim religious sociologist Reza Aslan, who gave a terrific interview with Oprah last Sunday on Super Soul Sunday.
The "path" we choose to find God--and it is a self-chosen path--varies based on our culture. While "faith" is very personal, the "path" is all about what religion is chosen. It's sad that most of the "paths" regard any other "path," as headed in another direction than toward God.
Who are you to decide which direction is toward "God?" If it's all subjective and individual and self-chosen like you say, anyone's conception of "God" is just as valid as anyone else's. How can you say that the dreaded fundamentalists are wrong? Their "path" is no less legit than yours or anyone else's.

Whoa... whoa... as long as that path goes through Christ, then God will be found. They don't have to do things as I do... Christ just needs to be in the mix.

Your life would be so much more stable if you just accepted that we have nothing to do with our salvation. Jesus did that. It is finished. That means Christ is in the mix, period, no matter what we do or do not do.
Great post Wardendresden - people don't comprehend it, but that's the case even in our basic translations (like KJV). The point of my post about key words like "repent", "confess", "sin", etc. is that the translators missed on these - and our entire articles of faith have been altered.
Christianity is not even Christianity - when exactly were the 10 Commandments ever given to a Gentile?
People were confident after they brought their lamb to be offered that they were forgiven; God brings His Lamb, and we're not sure about His work?

People need to believe in the gospel of Christ (death and physical resurrection) for their salvation.
My life is stable... one of the benefits of believing in Christ.

The "path" they talk about does not have to go through Christ. According to their view, you can walk any path, and you always end up in the right place anyway.
