Sodom & Gomorrah - The sin was sodomy, not inhospitality (Tanakh, celibacy)

Sodom and Gomorrah had many sins, including homosexuality. Now, some people say that Sodom's sin was inhospitality. While there are many Scriptures to debunk that, here is one that is affirmative.
Deuteronomy 23
[17] There shall be no whor**** of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
As you can see, this verse is purely about sexual conduct.
ANd A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y NOTHING about homosexuality, as you can read..

Geez, I can't stand fundamentalists' views but I don't think I would have sodomites representing them.
However, on another thread yesterday I heard fundamentalists placed into one of Jesus' parables. The one about the tares being sown with the good seed. That poster said fundamentalists are represented by the tares--initially hiding among those truly born to bring good fruit. The master said not to try to weed them out, but to separate them at harvest.
Well, actually the inhabitants of Sodom are not referred to in the Bible as "Sodomites". A sodomite was a shrine temple prostitute. So. when we read, for example, in 1 Kings 14:24 "there were also sodomites in the land", the text is telling us that "there were also male cultic prostitutes in the land."

24 And also adultery was in the land; they did as all the abominations of the nations that the Lord had driven out from before the Children of Israel.
Do you mean the above?...Where does it say Sodomite?...

Again, simple request. Present the 'many' scriptures that debunk the claim that Sodom's sin (among others) was its lack of hospitality. YOU started the thread. Now, back up your claims with scripture. Do you know who pretty much affirmed that Sodom's sin was its lack of hospitality? It was Jesus. Read Matthew 10:14-15.
Then, of course, as has already been pointed out to you by Warden, read also Ezekiel 16:48-50 which actually GIVES US THE REASON why Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed. You will note that 'sodomy' (are you using this term as representing homosexuality?) is mentioned nowhere.
A little bit of advice from someone who is always in the process of learning something new about many things himself. Before you start a debate thread make sure that you can handle responses from those who may know more about the topic than you do. The above scripture you gave has nothing to do with homosexual or heterosexual sex per se but with the command that "no Israelite man or woman is to become a shrine prostitute."

I mean 1 Kings 14:24 which reads from the NIV exactly as I presented it in my previous post. Most of the other versions of the Bible pretty much read the very same way. They speak of shrine temple prostitution where the KJV mentions the word 'sodomites'. Check the NIV, the NLT, the ESV, the NASB, the Holman Christian Standard Bible, etc. etc. Just about all of them. The KJV states: And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
Strong's Concordance defines 'sodomite' as below:

The term 'sodomite' (6945) is only mentioned once in the entire Bible. The term 'sodomites' (6945) is mentioned only four times in the entire bible. In ALL cases it refers to cult temple prostitutes as per Strong's Concordance. In NO case is it used to refer to the inhabitants of Sodom.
It's also interesting to note that many of the Bible passages equate 'sodomite' (shrine temple prostitution and cultic pagan idolatry practices) with the word 'abomination'. Just think of this glaring connection the next time you (a general 'you') think of Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 . . .
