This ability that some people have to make things up and declare them to be true, despite the fact that they are based on nothing more than rumination and make believe, would be a lot more amusing if the prevalence of such people had not just saddled the world with a dangerously unqualified narcissistic buffoon for American president.
I couldn't in (all) good conscience vote for either of them.
God created the men of the Golden age. In time they evolved (or devolved) into the men of the Silver age. They then evolved into the men of the Copper age. They then evolved into the men of the Bronze age. They then evolved into the men of the Iron age.
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth;
And God said unto Noah
And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth
A flood of waters or a flood of genes? Maybe God brought in some fresh group of people and allowed them all to interbreed. Iron people and water people interbred. Voila. No more men of iron
40 days = 40,000 years

Man's "purpose" on earth post-flood as God intends, is the same as it was pre-flood...
"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." Ecclesiastes 12:13 KJV
Where in the Bible does The Word of God say that earth is a "planet?"
Man and his kind (his "kind" is woman in case you forgot) have not been "doomed" ever since the woman ate of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil...for God proclaimed that the way back to God is found...
"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." Genesis 3:15 KJV
For Mormons, the flood was essentially the Earth's baptism by water. When Christ returns, it will receive its baptism by fire and finally at the end of the Millennium it will be destroyed and resurrected.
I couldn't in (all) good conscience vote for either of them.
I thought I was the only one. Peace
