Some when they have nothing left after giving up what was their world, find solace in many different things, including Christianity in all of its different varieties.
Did the person when He was a Christian get delivered from demonic spirits during His addition , or was He never really are true Christian , as this could be a fake news story of non Christian........ See fallen angels hold curses were addiction are strong against the will of man and demons temp people to get more drugs

This is one of the standard Evangelical or Fundamentalist responses - "he was never a Christian to start with".
Come on, people do leave religion (even if fundies don't like that word).
Even the likes of high profile Calvinist Apologist Matt Slick's daughter is now an avowed atheist.

That's because the Bible says such people never were. I mean...hate to actually quote the Bible on ya.....

Yes. People do leave religion. But they don't leave Jesus. If Matt's daughter had known Jesus she wouldn't have left.

Every addict or rehab program I've ever seen usually tells the addict or alcoholic to "keep busy". The reason I ask is that typically, if they "give up" something they replace it with something....be it alcohol, drugs, fitness, food...a hobby...whatever. When my dad gave up beer years ago he hit Coke (the pop) hard. He would drink a lot of it.
I heard a testimony of a person who conquered a substance addiction after leaving Christianity. The person was raised a Christian and for years had faith in Jesus, and also tried for years to use prayer and worship and the faith with helping the addiction.
Now this person associates the addiction with the faith, and has become an atheist.
What do you think of someone who gets better after leaving the Christian faith?

Perhaps, this person just needed a new beginning.
You don't always have to fill it with something else.
The OP post about the person becoming an atheist who claimed to be a Christian was not a Christian to begin with. It the same with going to church and just because one is at church does not mean the person is a Christian.

The person the OP refers to, seemed like they were indeed a Christian to begin with.
I do not know why born agains cannot accept that this happens, and happens within all faiths.
