Good Friday's message is what separates the sheep from the goats (believers & unbelievers), a Christian Church from a non-Christian church.
1 Corinthians 1:23 "we preach Christ crucified" This message should be the central teaching every worship service, not just on G.F.
Unfortunately, most churches focus on social issues, "believe in God and get wealth" message, "warm & fuzzy - feel good" message.
The simple fact is that God's law demands perfection. Ask your self this-----
Have I loved the Lord with all my heart, soul, strength and mind?
Have I loved my neighbor like as myself?
Have I been the perfect parent, spouse, child, teacher, student, employer, employee, citizen, worshiper?
Have I ever spoke, thought, looked at something that was unGodly?
If you're honest, the answer is no.
In fact the message of the cross is: "a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles" 1 Corinthians 1:23 "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18
What is the answer? Faith, works, obeying the law - a combination of the three? What makes a Christian church message?
Answer:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us." 1 John 3:16
