I had started a thread a few months ago with the question of Nephilim. Everybody had a different response, and many people just quoted Scripture. I am no closer to knowing what Nephilim are than I was before. Could someone paraphrase for me this time? What are Nephilim? Are they evil? Are they good? Does anybody know beyond a shade of a doubt?

No one can be dogmatic about its meaning. IMO the 2 best possibilities are "hero" or a race of people and they may be a race of large people, giants.
Gen 64 says they were mighty men, men of renown. "Hero" could fit here.
Num 13:33 makes "giant" a good possibility.
If I had to bet the home place on getting it right, I would say a race of giants."
There is nothing in the name that would indicate they were good or bad.

Not many want to hear this, but they are fallen spirits, the offspring of the angels that fell after joining themselves to women. It has been suggested the flood was to cleanse them out of the bloodline of man.

Nephilim does mean “fallen ones”...The question is, fallen in what way?...Some say that they were the descendants of Cain...The Zohar says fallen angels, however, the word that is translated as angel is Malach which means messenger in Hebrew...Others say that they were human...Considering the fact that the people of the South Pacific were very large people that could be considered giants, it wouldn’t be too far of a leap to say that the Nephilim were actually giant, compared to the Israelites...
