Harry looked a broken man. Charlie and Wills appeared to be smirking at Michael Curry’s enthusiastic delivery, and later (was it) Eugenie being drawn in...? They are <bleep> embarrassment. Sorry to have to say it.

Its too bad the "royals" cant find something useful to do with their lives.

Curry is head of the Episcopal Church, a religious denomination which is dying faster than most in America.

I admit that I'm somewhat sitting on the fence when it comes to the royals and their perceived 'usefulness' in the world. However, it does seem rather clear to me that being born into royalty is all that one has to do in order to be idolized. Right now the world is going through a giddy spell over the marriage of someone who has done far less for society than the average Salvation Army worker who no one will ever hear about.

BTW, I ordered the CD of the wedding music, mainly cuz of that soprano as MM
was walking in was SO beautiful...the 3 pieces by the cellist were wonderful.
Stand By Me...loved it all.

Seems to me this couple will be doing a lot of traveling around the world to
promote 'good'.

And if it is meant to die, it will die, but more likely, the people who are part of it will change form. That doesn't mean the faith will be lost. It's a church that's run on an elected hierarchy (church organizations often tend to mimic the governments where they exist), but the structure that worked well when it was the church of the wealthy and powerful in the U.S. isn't working so well now that it's a church of poorer and marginalized persons.

They will close my beautiful little 150-year-old stone church one of these days. We have a small-but-vibrant community, but we can't afford a full-time priest and the diocese is looking to sell what properties they can.

However, I think the people who found God and one another within its walls will take with them the spirit they found there and continue down other paths. It might not be a bad thing.
