God will not permit us to leave off of teaching on the elementary principles (one of them being eternal judgment) as long as there are people in the picture teaching denial of them.

Rev 20:10, And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
This scripture defines for us the nature of the lake of fire.
It is to be tormented day and night, age after age (to compromise and look at it your way slightly).
What does "age after age" mean?
It means that each aion is followed by another aion in which the person in the lake of fire will be "tormented day and night".
A good translation of "age after age" might be:
for ever and ever.
