With a growing apathy and attitude toward Scripture, perhaps a bad economy could make the wealth $$$$$$$$ the religions have amassed look like easy taking for the political, even easy just through the banking system.
I find at 1st Thess. 5:2-3 when the powers that be will be saying, " Peace and Security..." that will prove to be the ' final signal ' before the political will surprisingly turn on the corrupted religious world.
