We are required to love our enemies, may we not safely infer that God loves His enemies? (Matt. 5:44)

If God loves His enemies, will He punish them more than will be for their good?

Would endless punishment be for the good of any being?

If God loves those only who love Him, what better is He than the sinner? (Luke 6:32-33)

"Love thinketh no evil," can God design the ultimate evil of a single soul? (1 Cor. 13:5)

"Love worketh no ill," can God inflict, or cause, or allow to be inflicted, an endless ill? (Rom. 13:10)

We are forbidden to be overcome by evil, can we safely suppose that God will be overcome by evil? (Rom. 12:21)

Would not the infliction of endless punishment prove that God has been overcome by evil?

If man does wrong in returning evil for evil, would not God do wrong if He was to do the same?

Would not endless punishment be the return of evil for evil?

We are commanded "to overcome evil with good," may we not safely infer that God will do the same? (Rom. 12:21)

Would the infliction of endless punishment be overcoming evil with good?

I couldn't possibly have worded every option exactly the way each of you would have done. Cut me a little slack and vote for the option that comes closest to describing your opinion. Then clarify if you feel it necessary.
Don't take my response personally. I normally just post a direct answer - whether it's here, or in any other area of C-D. That's just what I do by default.

No follower of the Lamb of God prays for endless sin and punishment.

Why not pray for it? If God permits it, it must be good and right.

Endless evil is a senseless, rayless, starless abyss that does NOT flow from the One who is our dearest Daddy (Abba).

We pray for God's will and trust Him and all that He chooses to do... even if it doesn't make sense to us.

Yet, there are 29 uses of the word "wrath" in regards to God's judgment in the Bible.

God is just. He states in Exodus 34:7 that he will judge the guilty

The good news is that the Christian, who is in Christ is not guilty. He/she has Christ's righteousness, and they are seen as innocent. And they have the Spirit -- and those things should be visible in their lives.

<edit> Incidentally, I voted the top option. It's not a perfect definition, but it's the closest. </edit>

There is zero justification for eternal torment.

Sadism is not a virtue for most people.

The will of God prevails. His perfect will flows from His essence and Being the standard out of which His flawless actions transpire.

However we are to strive for wisdom and light and understanding

Not just rest and hide the “talent” we have been given in the earth

Mat 7:7**Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you;
Mat 7:8**for everyone who is asking receives, and he who is seeking finds, and to him who is knocking it will be opened.
Mat 7:9**Or what man is of you, of whom, if his son may ask [for] a loaf—a stone will he present to him?
Mat 7:10**And if he may ask [for] a fish—a serpent will he present to him?
Mat 7:11**If, therefore, you being evil, have known to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who [is] in the heavens give good things to those asking Him?

We are to ask, seek and knock for understanding and wisdom in the right places and be able to discern with our intellect what is real and what is an allegory, metaphor, myth

Rob, can I ask what denomination you belong to, if any? Just to help me see where you’re coming from

That's okay. It's actually more than okay.
