Not strange at all since the Satan you refer to is our "inner Serpent" (reptilian brain) that is entirely motivated by survival, pleasure-seeking, and pain avoidance with no other consideration. Not really. We're all born into sin. It's the effects of Adam's sin. Thankfully God knows his own and calls us to him.
