Have you ever found it strange that to serve the true God you must choose to do so, whereas to serve satan you simply have to exist?
Not strange at all since the Satan you refer to is our "inner Serpent" (reptilian brain) that is entirely motivated by survival, pleasure-seeking, and pain avoidance with no other consideration. It is our immature and growing Spirit that must learn to discriminate for it and control our responses to its urgings.

Lying is a child's immature Spirit's response to the urging of the "inner Serpent" for something it wants to have or to avoid experiencing.

Not really. We're all born into sin. It's the effects of Adam's sin. Thankfully God knows his own and calls us to him.
