It's hard to be a good Catholic. Too many Catholics pick and choose what they want to believe. There are also the twice a year Catholics. They go to Mass on Christmas and Easter only. No matter what religion you are, you probably have to work hard to be good at it.

"Too many Catholics pick and choose what they want to believe"

bETWEEN 80/90% of all Catholics disargee with one or more of the Churchs' teachings. I would put ABCs(artificial birth control) as number one.

I think the ABCs issue caused many to call into question other Church teachings.

The Church has painted themselves into a corner on many issues
Take ABCs issue as one, to admit that they were wrong they would have to admit that the Holy Spirit was with the Anglican Church at Lambeth when they gave the OK for ABCs and not with Rome. You think that is ever going to happen?

I have said this before... I really think that the US RC Church has a different midset than the RC Church in the more conservative parts of the wold. Rome has issues with the UC RC... they want the liberal thoughts and behaviors to be put to rest... in all honesty, if the US RC Church were to branch out I would stick with the US sector and leave Rome... I don't think the old and new thoughts are easily meshed and US is more open minded than Rome/other areas of the world... they want to go back in time and the US Church wants to progress.... not regress...

SKBS what parts of the world would you define as "conserative", It can't be Europe where church attendance is far lower then in the U.S.

A good Catholic is one who tries to live by all the teachings of the Church. One may not always understand why, but Faith leads them to believe.

I would agree with that, I think the keyword there is "tries"

"One may not always understand why, but Faith leads them to believe."
That sounds good, But does it? That's the sticky question.
