You shall not make for yourselves a carved image - any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing mercy to thousands, to keep those who love Me and keep My commandments. EXODUS 20:4,5
Not meaning to offend any one here and loving you all, but when we begin to pick and choose only the scriptures we like, we are creating our own God. Not the God of the bible. The Lord would not have put it in His book if it were not important for us to know. I think we should be careful not to lull one another to sleep. Walk in the fullness of the Word.
Didn't you just pick one?
What made you say this? Was it my reference to the Greatest Commandment and the Second? It was Jesus that said it...not me. Those encompass all law.
Non sequitur . . . Jesus exists . . . THAT is NOT foolishness and THAT is what is important! God does NOT control humans nor do "dictation" . . . we have free will and can only be influenced and inspired to understand using our EXISTING minds, culture and knowledge. The bible did not even exist in the early church . . . . that is why there is confusion and splitting in the religions.
So now, you decide what God does and does not do? Sounds like you are making a God in your own image.

No . . . but neither do you. You have made the bible your God . . . your idol . . and you interpret it wrongly, IMO . . . using a carnal mind. Spiritual interpretations are concerned with spiritual matters . . carnal interpretations are concerned with carnal matters and are better left to secular (carnal) laws.

It was the first commandment of the Ten that God gave us in the old testament. The ten commandments were not nullified by the new testament.
For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. MATTHEW 5:18
My point is that if you focus on only one aspect of Jesus and ignore the rest you are in danger of creating your own God. I'm not trying to offend you, stirringwaters. I love you as a sister in Christ, I know you are a christian so please don't be offended.

You are talented. Now you are a mind reader and know what I think. Awesome

Oh, no...I'm not offended. I follow all the laws...but I never forget what Jesus said is the Greatest Commandment and the Second that is like it...that all the laws hang on those two. I don't think it means we get a pass at all! I'm sorry if I gave you that impression.

Thank you StirringWaters. That is all I was trying to say.
I know we should all be in the gardens for better piece and not riot.and no problems from our daily changes. could stop if the influence of good and bad out of our percepts and just taken care of and only believed in gardens and only to be right. with god to not have sin as an anymore thing for zion to help the messiahs belief influence to the world. for the messiah is being waited for and isnt false or even known to be not corrected for it is correct for all of us.perfectly wild we are and not something humanly created for better faith and belief of somthing stronger than the weak and to help the weak with no other influence. but to know right and wrong not his angels turning to badness.
How nice is that? We're in agreement. Doesn't happen often around here, it seems. lol
