The source isn't important?? - - Sure it is. The source was important for Adam and Eve - they listened to the wrong source and look what happened to them?
Who are you listening to? In whom is your faith?
So, in your everyday dealings, do you believe what the source may tell you because everyone esle believes it or do you question because your heart tells you if it's true or not? Your source is the bible and if you step away from it to learn a higher truth, what will happen? Lose friends, family, feel alone? I did that and I found that I am not alone and that God is always with me, guiding me to peace and Love. Before that time, I was in hell, literally, so don't tell be the bible is the only book or that Jesus will save me because I know as fact neither one will. Only God and His love saves. All I had to do was ask.
When you look with the mind, you cannot ever find truth. When you look with your heart, truth will reveal itself. You just have to be willing to listen.
My faith is in God and God alone. Jesus is my teacher and I know in my heart that His teachings are to be trusted. I may not read or adhere to your bible but I do know the Truth of Love. Love will prevail. It's the only thing that brings light to the soul.

That's not true, Fundy. When you have a perfectly balanced ego, the mind can work with the heart and live in harmony with all of God's laws.
I would say you are not all there for calling the a bible verse wrong. Are you the authority and if you say, Jesus is then what proof do you have other than your word? All we have is the bible to be God's word...if someone takes issue with what I said then they can look at scripture to see if I am wrong or right. In your case we can't do that.

And if you believe the bible is the only book we should adhere to in order to find God, what of all the people who have actually found God that don't read the bible? God doesn't look at what we read, He looks at our souls. Our souls can find Truth faster than words. Jesus didn't just read the OT, He also got information from God that isn't even in your bible.
What of all the souls in the world that are good and righteous that don't read your bible? Did another person tell you that they are sinners and not worthy of God or did you read that in your book and you actually believe it? I believe we are all God's greatest creations even if we are evil and sinful. I also believe that anyone who has a desire to become as Jesus was, can.
What does you bible teach you of Love? There are only a few passages in it that do talk about Divine Love. The very thing that gives you a new heart that Jesus so much wants from us.
Love is the greatest of all God's Laws and when you fail to Love, no matter what, be it based on religion, race, or anything else, that is when we have to repent and come back to God. Without Love, we cannot see God. If you do not love another because they don't believe the way you do, you are sinning by not obeying the Law of Love. Believing that another is imperfect shows just how imperfect you really are. Our souls are perfect yet it's our actions that put encrustments on the soul and those encrustments are what we are to be rid of and no amount of worshipping Jesus can do that for you. Love is the cleanser and if you do not have Divine Love, even if you read the bible, you cannot see God.
Here's a little story for you. I don't know how it may relate but...
My boyfriend is agnostic. He believes in God but that is where he stops with it. Over the course that we have been together, he has went from not believing anything I tell him of what I believe to agreeing with me. Do you know why? Not because he knows my beliefs or reads anything as he is still agnostic. It's because he sees how I live my life and how I treat others. It's how I relate the Love of God to everyone. He no longer tells me I'm wrong but when in a conversation, he will say "listen to her, she knows what she's talking about". That's isn't easy for him. He would never tell someone else that and he would argue with them. He has seen me become Light and he knows that I lead people to God.
It's never about the source but what the message conveys. If your bible conveys Love to all, then by all means don't stop reading it. My beliefs teach me of Love so I am going to keep reading it. it matters not to God where Truth comes from as long as it's Truth and not made up by man. Each religion has flaws, even mine is not 100% correct. We just have to learn to discern truth with what we are given in our soul condition.

Let me reiterate as I told you on another thread. Read and study my beliefs before you go off saying yours is the only truth.
I can't....you have nothing written down but your word that you heard from God? I am suppose to believe you? You criticize me for believing the bible through my reading and study but now I am suppose to read and study your beliefs?
