I believe that these are the first fruits, the elect, the overcomers who will rule and reign with Jesus. They follow the Lamb wherever He goes.
They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they
did not love their lives in the face of death. (Revelation 12:11 HCSB)

Most Bible commentaries that I have read concluded that, either these are the spirits or saints, or the Jewish people, (if this was so, then woe unto us Christians...we don't stand a chance, not only are we rejected by Christ, he chose the very people who denied and crucified him.
The word Jews, is short for Judaism...a RELIGION, and not a race.
Revelation 7 speaks of the elect as coming from the 12 tribes of Israel (which are now dispersed to the 4 corners of the earth...us), which means that ALL NATIONS of the world are candidates for this election.
Are they ALIVE? I BELIEVE SO!
The question is, "How to go through the 12 gates"... (Rev. 21:12-13, 17)
Revelation 7:2-4
And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea.
Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads 36?
comment: The weight of 36 is 666 when you plus the digits 1+2+3+4+5+6...all the way to 36 will equal 666. (The opposite of God's Mark?)
And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of ISRAEL.
comment: If the angels were to hurt the earth before the chosen were sealed, then they would perish as well. (Die)
Revelation 14:1-5 This passage seems to dash the hope of Christians if you don't look at it closely.
v1 And Looked and lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Zion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
comment: John SAW them, tangible, in the flesh!
v2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: (Spirit/angels)
v3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no MAN could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
v4 These are they which were not defiled by women; (male) for they were virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These are the redeemed from among MEN, being the firstfruits (sacrifice) unto God and to the Lamb.
v5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they were "WITHOUT FAULT" before the throne of God.
comment: Jesus would not have to die for them for they are without sin!
Throughout the 66 books of the bible, I have not read of ONE, let alone 144,000 males who are faultless, except for the ONLY begotten son of GOD, The Lord Jesus Christ.
Yet, I cannot deny what is written...then I remembered the slaughter of MALE BABIES, from two years old and below, ordered by herod in search for the newborn Messiah. They must have been the descendants of Joseph, for It was Rachel who wept (Matthew 2:18). These INDEED would be the firstfruits (sacrifice) unto God and to the Lamb. They are WITHOUT GUILE. *The angels who will escort the elect.
Mark 13:20 And except that the LORD had SHORTENED THOSE DAYS, NO FLESH (ALIVE) should be saved: BUT FOR THE ELECT SAKE, WHOM HE HATH CHOSEN, he hath shortened the days.
Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to SEDUCE, if it were possible, even the ELECT.

36x4 = 144,000
And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four (144) cubits, according to the measure of man, that is, of an angel.

The 144,000 sons who are birthed on Firstfruits are the only people in all of history who receive the reward of second resurrection.
Revelation 14 has them standing on the mount with Jesus as virgins, and right there, right then, those virgins give birth to 30 year old , full grown sons.
1 Corinthians gives us the order of firstfruits. Jesus was the first resurrected son into a kingdom to which many will follow. That in Revelation 14, only these taken from all history gain the reard of first resurrection and everyone else waits for the second judgment, and the second death.
These 144,000 are counted in Revelation 11, but Revelation 11 just begins where Revelation 7 begins.
The angel says,'' You must go BACK and prophecy again to many peoples of many tongues''
So you go right back to the sealing of the 144,000 in their forehead WHILE the temple proper is being measured and the temple proper has two sections, thus, two witnesses.
There is only one way to receive the seal of God in your forehead and right hand, and this is Exodus 13 in the keeping of the Sabbaths and the feasts of God.
The outer court of gentiles is not measured or counted because they are people who are at the temple of God, but they have remained gentiles when they should have become Israel, they are marked in their forehead with Babylon because they were gentiles in their Sabbaths and their feasts.
To keep Christmas and Easter is in fact to keep the feasts and Sabbaths of Babylon.
The measuring of the temple of God is only to count it's people, but the outer court is not counted, just as you will not find Ephraim within those sealed in Revelation 7, there will never be an Ephraim again after that moment. There will never be Dan for those people either, and Dan is judgment, but they received the seal of God and they will no longer thirst or feel heat or punishment ever again.
Obtaining the reward of first resurrection is a reward, not salvation but those 144,000 have all become priests, and they will serve the nations who are left alive as a witness.
For myself, I don't expect to be in the first resurrection, I am always working toward that goal but I doubt that I have yet received it.
The 7 feasts days are instruction for the bride, you are put in charge of God's household because you have been given a seed to raise on the milk of the word.
You are to give the son of God meat in due season and this is teaching and learning the milk of the word until you can eat the meat on the 7 feast days.
But woe unto those who are with children and weaning children in those days, woe.
Jesus talks about how he will kill their children with death, and this is speaking of the child we raise within us.
''God has created a new thing in the earth, a woman shall encompass a man.''
This was fulfilled and created on the day that Jesus was resurrected.
Jesus was born of a woman like all flesh, of Eve, and he was a female in the flesh like all flesh is considered female.
He was raised just as all men were raised in slowly learning himself, right until he knew to reject the bad and accept the good.
Jesus walked in the law, and by keeping the law, and not sinning, he was a virgin in the flesh, as a righteous Eve walking, but when he was resurrected, he was raised as the new Adam, and his body was still with him, but it was Adam who became the covering, the first born Adam into a new kingdom.
Jesus was a virgin when he died on the cross and he gave birth to a full grown son, and now we can literally say,'' God has created a new thing in the Earth, a woman shall encompass a man.''
This is the same thing we strive to do, to be as virgins before God and to continuously raise the son we have been put in charge of, but if we put that son in the corner, and we refuse to seek the kingdom of God in teaching the child, then the child will remain a child.
When it was said of Jesus,'' He was about 30 years of age.'' It didn't matter how old he was physically, it referred to his spiritual growth.{ find others who were 30 in the bible and see what happens at 30}

We all make up the Temple and what it is, but some people are,

I believe that Paul is speaking of 3 groups of people who will be resurrected and that "Christ the first fruit"s refers to those annointed believers who will be in the first resurrection. They are the elect, the overcomers. Here is why I believe this:
The word for "order" is tagma and it means a squadron, group, or class. It does not refer to an individual. Jesus is an individual and He has already been resurrected. Paul is speaking of those who will be made alive in Christ. So they have not yet been made alive (vivified) in Christ.
1 Cor. 15
20 But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. 21 For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming, 24 then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power.
Jesus is the first fruits of those who are asleep. He is the first fruits of all who are dead. Then Paul speaks of those who will be made alive in Christ: Christ the first fruits is in the first group. These are also first fruits. The word, Christ, is translated as "anointed" so I believe that this is what Paul is saying here. The anointed first fruits are the first group to be raised from the dead. So I believe that these are the elect, the anointed ones, the overcomers, the ones who are raised first, the 144,000. God bless.

i don't venture to say for sure.. only that this number was probably figurative.
anything is possible if God deems it, there could be a literal 144,000.
the beasts, ***** of babylon, and other amazing entities could all materialize
physically.
144,000 in revelation means all of God's people in union with him.
144,000 as the product of 12x12x1000, the number 144,000 represents all of God's people in union with him. (Rev 7:4; 11:2; 13:5; 14:1; 21:17
It means all of us.

Revelation 7:9 9 After these things I saw, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in their hands; ... 14 And I say unto him, My lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they that come of the great tribulation, and they washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Note; in Greek the "come out" indicates they live through it and are still on earth.
The 144,000 are a distinct group.
(Revelation 14:1) Then I saw, and look! the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who have his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads.
(Revelation 14:3) And they are singing what seems to be a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders, and no one was able to master that song except the 144,000, who have been bought from the earth.
the 144,000 is probably a symbolic number
for 12 Apostles X 12 Tribes = 144 X 1000
to signify an exponential increase.
It is the number of Priests within the priesthood, it is not an actual number, it is a complete and whole number that means God will not leave a single one behind.
People assume that those 144,000 will be 144,000 living on Earth, but this is far from true.
Those same 144,000 are seen on the mountain and they are ALL the firstfruits Redeemed from mankind, in all of history, every person who has raised a full grown son will give birth.
Being firstfruits means you are considered a virgin by flesh, and you give birth to a child that you yourself have raised.
There is a vast difference between being a female bride of Christ and being a female bride of Christ who gives birth to a full grown male.
There is a difference between a betrothed bride of Christ, and a betrothed bride of Christ who will be able to enter into the wedding chamber in order to consummate the marriage on Rosh Hashanah.
Very few people have obtained the prize in being one of those 144,000, they are over comers. I doubt I will be counted among them, but unless you are counted among them, you cannot obtain the reward of first resurrection.
