It's amazing how people are duped by these guys. I guess I kind of understand that when a situation seems hopeless a person is going to latch on to someone who is offering hope. But "offering" seems to be the operative word in too many of these "ministries".
A friend of mine said that as his wife lay in bed dying of cancer Benny looked straight into the camera and said "I see a man who's wife is dying of cancer right now. If you just will obey God and send a seed faith offering of..."
My friend said he was a bit skeptical but even if there was a million to one chance that it was real he had to at least
try or else he couldn't live with himself. So he sent thousands to Hinn and was saddled with even more medical debt after his wife passed away.
But you understand - when people are really
really desperate...
I don't blame them as much as him.
