Joh 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
Joh 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

What does this mean to you?
When does he light everyone coming into the world - at conception?
Is it to do with the breath of God that is in the dust of the earth?
The dust return to the earth and the spirit returns to God who gave it..
and this relates to the works of the devil that are heading for the "lake of fire " and the serpent eating the dust
and that in Christ all will be made alive - it is that breath of God in all that is his body and he is collecting it back each in their own order.........

I think John 1:9 should read...(after looking at the greek YLT is fitting):
He was the true light, which doth enlighten every man, coming to the world;
So He was coming into the world and the light is just explained as enlightening every man. There is no time line really, as to when every man will be enlightened by this true light.
But - 1 John 2:8 On the other hand, I am writing a new commandment to you, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true Light is already shining.
The light of the Lord is an eternal light , see at creation Lord God separated light fron darkness but the light was God and the darkness was not.... see and the burning bush God spoke to Moses from the burning bush which was the Eternal Light of the Lord at the mountain where The Lord gave Moses the Ten Commandments the mountain was on fire with the Eternal Light of the Lord God.....In the wilderness the Egyptians chased Moses and Israel through the desert the Lord God put up a pillar of fire with his Eternal Light.....At the birth of Jesus the star of Bethlehem was the Eternal Light of the Lord God ..... At a prayer meeting I went to About 8 years ago the Lord God showed me his Eternal Light which was like camera flashes going off all over the prayer room ,,,, there were many people there but no one else could see the Eternal Light but me this went on for about 5 minutes ...Glory to God ......
You are familiar with the scriptures . . . so I assume you are looking for "What do you think it means in your synthesis, Mystic?" . . . correct? I hope it won't disappoint.
All the consciousnesses of humankind (Spirits) were in spiritual darkness with no hope of ever joining with God's consciousness . . . they couldn't even come close. There was NO human consciousness that understood what true agape love was or what God's true nature was . . . they were barely more than semi-human animals fearing God and everything else (rulers, natural disasters, tragedies, etc.) . . . and ruled by our animal urges. Our powerful sinful animal natures were dominant and kept our consciousnesses in spiritual darkness.
Jesus came to produce a human consciousness that was identical to that of God. He knew (and God knew) what the ultimate outcome of that would be during that barbarous era of our history. He knew how His message of agape love and acceptance would be received by the religious leaders of the time as well. But He had to demonstrate this "alien concept" of agape love, spread His message, and try to correct the misunderstanding of God that existed . . . or there would be few if any humans whose Spirits would produce very much agape love . . . let alone "30 fold, or 60 fold or 100 fold."
Unfortunately . . . the only way to make Jesus' "Spirit" (human consciousness) available to the rest of humankind was for Him to be reborn as Spirit after death . . . (the same process that awaits us at death.) This meant that Jesus would have to die and be reborn as Spirit (Holy Spirit) in a human consciousness form to connect ALL human consciousness to God. This was to become the "light" that is brought into the darkness of human consciousness at each human birth since His resurrection.
It would have been better for Jesus if He could have stayed a longer time in His ministry and died a more natural death. But that was not possible BECAUSEOF our ancestors' sinful and loveless natures. It also would not have provided as powerful and unambiguous an example of God's TRUE NATURE and true love for us ALL . . . as the scourging and crucifixion did. That is how Jesus died for (because of) our sins.
You're welcome, meerkat . . . the underlyign scientific reality (while counter to the superstitious and magical interpretations of our primitive ancestors . . . and so many of the mainstream) . . . changes nothing about what actually happens. It only changes the explanation for it. Jesus saved us ALL by attuning His human consciousness in perfect resonance with God's (Identical) . . . so we all can join God. The closer we "tune"(repentance) our consciousnesses in love to Jesus' (harmonic resonance) the more of our "spiritual works" (states of mind during our lifetimes) will be "covered" by His perfection and retained when tested by God's consuming fire (refinement). ALL those conscious moments of our lives when we were "workers of iniquity" must be "destroyed" (refined out) . . . just what unpleasantness that entails (and for how long) will likely depend on how evil we were then (we reap what we sow).
When Jesus the light of the world entered this world everything changed , it was no longer an eye for an eye , it was no longer calling fire down from heaven like Elijah , it was no longer destroying life but saving it, it was longer condemning and stoning those caught in adultery but showing them mercy and so on.
Thank God for Jesus !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . He truely is the Light of the world.
