On that hot August Sunday morning, I watched as the preacher took a drink from that tall glass of ice water setting on the pulpit...I sure did want some of that water..the country church was not air-conditioned...I could see the beads running down the glass as the preacher paused, raised it to his lips, and drank.
I looked around, and saw that every eye was fastened on that water glass...the preacher had everyone's attention as he preached on that water when you drink it you'll never thirst again.
Funny how that sticks out in my mind (this was the early 60's and the preacher was my daddy..who died in 1966 at the age of 40).
In Matthew 11: 40-42 ....``He that receiveth you receiveth me and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.........He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receiveth a prophet`s reward and that receiveth a rightous man in the name of a rightous man shall receiveth a rightous man`s reward........ And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple verily I say unto you he shall in no wise lose his reward..```.... Also means a drink of living water from a disciple can mean prayer for people.......a Prophets reward is if you believe the prophet then that faith in Jesus, and Jesus can bless those who believe....
lol,too cute walk.I agree,he had a real gift.sometimes there is nothing like a visual demonstration, although i realize it wasn't in the same literal sense here.awesome.
