I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that keeps stalling when it gets warm. Typically happens on hotter days in stop and go traffic or when sitting idling. Once it stalls, it sometimes starts back up right away but mostly, it needs to sit for a few minutes (5-10) before it will restart. If I try to restart, it just cranks. Once it re starts, it will either be good to drive and go....or go a few feet and stall again...starting the process again. Mostly happens in episodes where it does it over and over again consecutively. Appears to be more pronounced / frequent at higher external temperatures.

Have already replaced the PCM and fuel pump. This error does not deliver error codes.

Is it possible the KAM fails on its own in high temperatures intermittently?

Any help or advice is much appreciated.

what fuel are you running in this? specify brand and octane. Also critical to know if the running problem shows up more consistently with a given fuel tank level, typically a lower amount in the tank.

no error codes says that the computer-to-component connects are intact and the computer is seeing the feedback from the components that says they are working. So the problem must lie in a malfunctioning mechanical aspect of their functions.

the fault could lie in any number of fuel or emission system components. Possible to be ignition system related, but generally this will set a code ... so not my first area to check out.

diagnosis may be tricky, but replacing components without a clear demonstrated failure mode is not a good tactic. Sometimes this type of failure can be as simple as a stuck EGR valve, typically found by removal and inspection.

Likely the way to isolate the failed component will be to get the vehicle into the shop and run it hot enough to get it to show signs of not running properly. Then "chill" various components with compressed air, ice cubes, or whatever other means are available to cool items off. Conversely, you can heat various system components up with a heat gun. Once a suspect item is identified, then best to cycle it a few times to failure and recovery to verify that it's the failure point.

Also check closely for any vacuum leaks that could be heat failure related ... hoses, manifold fittings, even the intake manifold gaskets.

FWIW, in my experience, there aren't a lot of shops/techs with the strategies or tactics to do this diagnostic work. Most simply resort to guesswork and replacing components until the car runs properly. Suggest that you find an independent driveability specialist, perhaps an automotive electrical shop.

PS: Jeep may know of a consistent failure point in the vehicle which has an in-house TSB or even a failure based warranty program. Be sure to check with your dealer service department about this. Also, check in with a shop using Mitchell 1 service software for their access to the common problem feedback system; this problem may have been reported by other shops and their fixes may be a direction for your shop to check out.

We are having the same problem with our 2013 as well... But ours may do it first thing in the morning while backing our and then allow us to drive 8 hours with no problem. We never know when it will stall... Last time it happened while my 18 year old was turning across 5 lanes of traffic. This is completely unsafe and has been in the shop since with no avail... Since no codes are showing and they can't duplicate then they say they will keep it or we can come get itVery frustrated. We bought it used from a dealer. It has 56,000 miles

Quick check on wranglerforum seems like your not the only one. This thread he says he taps on the PCM(computer) and it stalls and stumbles. Sometimes I find grounding issues with computers also could be bad part inside the PCM.
