Kasich: Passenger rail proponents a ‘train cult’

Business Courier

Date: Thursday, December 2, 2010, 2:23pm EST

Governor-elect John Kasich

Like him or not, you have to admit John Kasich is quick with a quip.
According to the Columbus Biz Insider, a prime example came Tuesday when the governor-elect said proponents of passenger rail service in Ohio are part of a “train cult” – a term he made up on the spot according to one of his press aides.

The guy is an idiot who won't be in office to see the damage from his frivolous actions.

I don't give a rats a$$ if the guy supports rail or not, he is still gonna run this state into the ground. Everybody put your seat belts on because it is going to be a rough ride. Most people are probaly going to jump out of the car before it crashes. The young people of this state are going to leave faster than ever and Ohio will be worse of than Michigan and Mississippi.

Let's just see how it plays out. Anyone wanna take bets on how bad it's going to get?

He learned to be so clever on Fox News, no doubt ...

We have had big spending job killing liberals in charge for 27 years in Ohio, so it may take a while to turn this thing around. Yes, Bob Taft was a liberal and so was Voinovich.

I will reserve opinion until I see some positive proposal. Killing the 3-C has to be a negative. It may be a good negative to prevent future crippling state obligations, but it is still a negative.

The big one I want to see is what he does for schools. So far it appears to be a throwback to the often declared unconsitutional funding based on property taxes. The wealthy areas get good schools, everyone else sucks.

Sounds like his press aides are so proud that he can come up with such a witty quote. Wow, what will he think of next? Sounds like he is an anti-employment freeway loving gasoline ho'. (my press aides just told me that was a good one and want you to be aware that I came up with that on the spot).

So what is his alternative? What is his solution for creating jobs? It's nice that he can be all witty and call people names who support actions that will create jobs and sustainability, but what does he have to offer other than little names for people he will be serving in Ohio?

Hmm, at least the "train cult" people have facts and figures. You would think that someone who is going to be governor would take as much time and effort in getting to know the facts.

All Aboard in Cincinnati?

I don't know about you, but I don't care if the governor is a Republican or Democrat. What we need is someone who will lead, not sit around and do nothing but spout ridiculous rhetoric.

What is his plan to create jobs? He already sent a lot of jobs to a smarter state that is going to take the $400-million government money. If he can create jobs that's great, but somehow I don't see that happening.

I'm so glad that my new governor said I'm part of a cult because I support passenger rail.
