Greetings!,

I may have the opportunity to take a job in NE part of Cincinnati. My wife and I would be looking for a relatively small house (2000 sq ft) but with a larger piece of land (5 acres minimum, 10-15 acres preferable).
It seems like Clermont county would be a possibility. We definitely want a rural/farming type lifestyle. (This actually gives me a great excuse to buy a John Deere Tractor!) I do not know the Cincinnati area well at all, so if the rural minded folks on this forum could present their thoughts, opinions, and experiences, I would appreciate it!

Clermont county should definitely have options.. Warren county as well..

NE Cinci would definitely be close to Warren County. Clermont, wouldn't be bad, hop on the 275 loop..

I'm not particularly rural minded, but I live just outside lebanon in Warren county, and there are definitely larger parcels (outside of lebanon proper) that come up for sale. 5 acres, 10+ acres, etc.. There are horses, corn, soybeans, etc. It is definitely more agricultural than urban.

There may be some more real rural folks who come by... if not, you'll probably hear from a couple others that are in the rural counties, but who live in the city areas (Lebanon, Mason, Milford, etc..)

Clermont County will be expensive for vacant land that can be used for something other than a goat run.

You will fond that Adams and Brown Counties have plenty of affordable land and most houses out there are built on reasonably large plots.

I'd say look in the NE part of Warren County or just across the border in Clinton County - perhaps in or near Clarksville.

I don't see Clermont County working very well in your case. Assuming the job would be during normal business hours, that means you'd probably need to take I-275 to I-71. 275 gets really, really backed up in Clermont County during rush hour (going from Clermont Co toward 71 in the morning, going away from 71 into Clermont Co in the afternoon).

71 can get backed up in the Mason area too, but it doesn't seem as bad as the 275 mess in rush hour.
