I know you said downtown, but I would also recommend that you look at Mt. Adams as well. I have a friend who is in a very similar situation as you, and he started in downtown, lived there for a year, then moved to Mt. Adams and settled in. Geographically, Mt. Adams is so close to downtown that you might as well be living there, but the residents tend to have a more professional, less hipster vibe. One drawback is that you will pay a bit more for a similar apartment in Mt. Adams than downtown, and there are many more options downtown.

Another place to look downtown is the Pendleton area. It is on the northeastern edge of downtown and is very conveniently located for access to I-71 north, the hospitals, and the courthouse. There are not a whole lot of quality apartments, but for $1000/month you could get quite a pad if it is available. A few blocks from Main Street, it borders some of my favorite downtown spots.

thanks everybody, i haven't been able to get on the site in a while due to work and life getting busy.

I was able to travel up to Cincy for some work related things and ended up renting an apartment downtown that was exactly what I wanted.

I appreciate all the help and thoughts!

Colerain and Cheviot are nice Middle Class areas Mt Airy is like the lower part of Colerain but not by any means ghetto.
Seriously? Did you not read what the OP was looking for? The neighborhoods you mentioned don't meet any of the criteria.

I would stick to downtown and I also agree with the Mount Adams suggestion. Both would be great places to live.

Welcome to Cincinnati, Loki512!

Thanks for reporting me and calling me a troll I was two seconds away form reporting you back but im not going to take it there. ANYWAY and I lived in Cincinnati all my life soo I pretty much know about it. I was just being real with the original poster. If shes from the Memphis, Ghetto and she wants a change the Downtown is not the place for her. Lets be real. I was suggesting other areas that were in close proximity to her job and Downtown. That were still vibrant. ANYWAY original poster, Mt. Adams is cool also check Delhi.

Downtown has ghettos nearby and no own recommended any one of them to her. But to say downtown is ghetto is simply misinformation. I would suggest you get down there and see what's happening present day cause it isn't the same as it once was.

I mean Is steping up with the square and the nice new restteraunts and barrs. I see it potentially liveable in the next 8 to 10 years. I'd live over the river than downtown is nice there imo. idk I guess its just my opinion. and I didn't realize the op move already welcome to Cincinnati.
