Well, this one was the real deal: for the first time in several years, we cannot get out of our street and are stuck here until the street is either plowed or the ice melts. Happy it was not the glaze ice that destroys trees and power lines, though. And that I went to Kroger for 5 gallons of milk yesterday. (just kidding).

It was a little hard yesterday morning to believe their predictions. But I decided to play safe and go to Kroger for some provisions. Stocked up in the frozen food aisle with my favorite brand - Stouffer's. Got some Mac & Cheese, Stuffed Green Peppers, Lasagna, and Chicken Florentine. Glad I did.

Yes it proved to be the real deal. When I took our trash cans out last evening and felt the ice pellet snow coming down I thought no trash pickup tomorrow. But our road crews here in Mason are just amazing. When I looked out this morning and saw a mostly bare street, I thought Hooray! The trash people were here early and gone. Mason did cancel school today, but they really didn't have to, our road crews are just that good.

My daughter and SIL are both teachers in Bourbon Co. KY. They live in Paris and are experiencing their 11th snow day today. They will soon be still going in mid-June.

So even though the predictors got it reasonably right this time, for whatever reason the predicted volume of snow has consistently come up short. Now I am not complaining mind you.

Looks like in our corner of the state, we ended up pretty much with what was predicted.

This is looking across our driveway. Still waiting for the plow guy to get here. I would be out with the snowblower, but I am still recuperating from a recent knee replacement

So where did the snow come from last night? I thought they said it would be dry until Saturday? So much for predictions.

I certainly hope so. But wait, they did say the accumulating snow would start around 7:00 PM, so we still have quite a ways to go.

I just checked the latest radar and snow is still moving eastward from IL into IN and headed towards Cincy. May not amount to much but I would say you will still see something even if it is only an inch or two. Hopefully it is on the low side because I was not able to put down any ice melt on my walks yesterday due to the rain that was predicted to fall first. Would have washed it all away before it could work on the ice and then the snow.

Yeah we will still get some, but it won't be the 4-7 inches they were predicting.

Weather Channel is saying 2-4 inches and they are usually the most accurate.
