I just inherited an old laptop (Zenith SupersPort 286) and am wondering if any local museum has a collection of historic computers. This one was apparently a landmark in design, from about 1990.

Sorry, I don't know about any laptop era museums. My earliest introduction was at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago where they had an old Univac vacuum model machine. Those vacuum tubes were immense.

Miami University has a small "computer museum" in the engineering building.

There are cases on all three floors with computers in them, and I'm sure they'd appreciate any donation. I don't know the correct contact person offhand, but I do know they would be in the Computer Science (CSE) department.

The laptops are so cheaply constructed they don't deserve a museum, just a dump heap, just like the phones of today. Pile them up, burn them, just get rid of them.

That is a pretty old article. Milacron has not been a viable machine tool entity for several years now. If you look them up today you will find they are a plastics processing machine business, a fraction of the size of the original business. Their production facility is in Batavia.

My former employer does a lot of business with their primary competitor, HUSKY in Toronto, Canada.

These old articles have some nostalgia. I remember their controls division out in South Lebanon, a tall tower visible from I-71. But that dates back to when they were a world class outfit. They made their own controls, probably not a wise decision. Stick to what you do best, don't dilute it.
