I am arriving in Cincinnati airport but need to pick up by a taxi to go to Dayton Ohio. What is the best and cheapest way to go about getting to Dayton airport? I tried looking up a taxi companies and came up with nothing. Any ideas? Thanks

Ground Transportation to and from Dayton International Airport

I hesitated to say "You can't get there from here" but it is somewhat true. If you have chosen to fly into CVG and out of DAY to save $$ you have made a mistake. It will cost you $150 to make the trip on the ground.

A light rail line over this route would be really nice, one that had stops in both downtowns, inside the 275 loop, Hamilton, Middletown, and Miamisburg, but it's a pipe dream....

For now though, the obvious answer here is Uber, since it runs in both Cincy and Dayton. In fact, I'll PM you a driver I know who operates in Cincy and is probably willing to do this drive.

Otherwise, look into Wilson's links, in particular Anton's Transportation. They have a sizable number of cabs in the Dayton area, I'm always seeing them around.

Last suggestion is to ride in style and get a limo. Why? Because Westwind Airport Valet offers their limos for cheap rates during the day, because 99% of the use they (used to) get was for proms, dances, etc. Now the company has branched out and gets a lot of business from airport transportation. Here's a link:
Dayton International Airport Parking | Parking at Dayton DAY Airport | Westwind Airport Valet

Good luck!

If you wanted to do this on the cheap, you may want to take public transit out to West Chester (The TANK bus from CVG to downtown Cincinnati and then catch the 42X bus to West Chester) and then use a taxi from West Chester to the Dayton airport. That would save you around 60% of the above taxi charge. It's about $5 for the busses and then only $60 from West Chester to the Dayton airport.

Not that I would recommend the following, but if you're traveling on a weekday, are really adventurous, frugal, and have lots of time to get there, the only stretch not covered by public transit is 10 or so miles between Miami U - Middletown and the Dayton Mall in Miamisburg. If you used a taxi for only that stretch your total transit bill should be less than $40. The problem is you have to use four different transit authorities (TANK, SORTA, BCRTA and Dayton's RTA) and the BCRTA only runs busses every two hours. Welcome to Southwest Ohio.

There's also the ride a bus from CVG to the Cincinnati Greyhound station, ride Greyhound to Dayton, and then take a short taxi ride from the Greyhound station to the airport.

You would have to use the TANK to downtown first. Uber's not allowed at CVG, because that airport board is all about doing what's best for the regional economy.

All of these suggestions can work … depending on schedules that need to be met. That would need to need to be a primary consideration.

I was going to guess about that amount. It would be cheaper to rent a car and drive.
