Looking for somewhere to temporarily rent until we find a house. Near Evendale.

Young couple with 5 kids.

A house would be perfect but a large apartment is fine also.

I'm fine with sorting through options but I'm having a hard time figuring out what areas to avoid. We don't need it to be close to anything. I'm not walking to the grocery with 5 kids. In fact, country living is ideal for us. But since it's temporary , city living is okay too, as long as it's safe enough for the kids to play outside.

Also, I'm not sure what websites, other than zillow to search on.

Or, if anyone knows of a steal on a huge house to purchase that'd be fine too! I look often but they get snatched up before I can sell my current house!

Basically, Cincy is an intricate city. And the suburbs, as time progresses, are panning out to be the same way. What will be really interesting to see is how the suburbs outside 275 age over the next 20+ years but that is a different topic.

It boils down to:

1. Your budget
2. Your desired commute and
3. Desired location characteristics

I could go through some laundry lists of the city/metro and its intricacies but that would be very tiring and tedious for both of us to digest. Let's narrow it down some.

We had a thread recently on Evendale, except I mistyped it as Evendae in the title. Do a search on my mis-spelling and you may pick up some helpful into. Best wishes.

1. I'd like to stay under 1000/month. Again, it's temporary and I don't want to eat up every extra penny I have for something that's not going to be home.
2. commute up to 20 mintues into Evendale.
3. safe. I'd prefer country but I know that's a lot to ask. Driving distance to everything is fine. I know there are a lot of safe areas where rent isn't 2,000/month, I just don't know how to find them.

Ah. Then Colerain Twp is probably your best (and only) bet.

Cross-county highway is a straight shot to Evendale from the area. The area has it's issues, but for a no nonsense rental it will do the trick. Should be safe too. I'll post specific listings later.

Good luck!
