Just moved to cincy and We are looking at buying a small used car. Where would be the best dealers to start looking at and any recommendations on mechanics to use to get an independent check carried out?

The fact is you will likely spend more on the repair of that used car you buy than you paid for it. Once you get a dealer who knows you are serious, read that warranty thoroughly. If you don't understand - ASK.

I am not a good reference for this subject, as I currently have two vehicles. One is a 2001 Mercury Sedan I bought new in 2002 and has just turned 52,000 miles. The other is a Dodge Caravan Grand Caravan, circa 1997, which went through a wheelchair conversion, side loading process, and now has 75,000 miles on it.

My Mercury has so few miles I expect to run it another 10 years. Simple division, 13 years old, 52,000 miles, or 4,000 miles per year. I thoroughly expect to get another 10 years out of it, or 92,000 miles. I certainly know it will need more maintenance, some expensive, but compared to NEW, Duck ****!.

Then my wife's conversion wheelchair van. OMG this one worries me. This one I bought used a few years ago My wife had a hauling hydraulic lift installed on the van to transport her 3-wheel scooter. It worked well for many years then she realized need a full-size wheelchair which overwhelmed the lift.

So I went out to buy a wheelchair conversion mini-van. Looked at new, too close to the value of my house. Looked at used at dealers, in my opinion way too high priced for the age, remaining life, etc.

We bought from an individual on Craiglist. A very good transaction.
